Henry Raymond (Ray) Giles lived on Scarlet Drive in Doveton. He was a City of Berwick Councillor for the Doveton Ward from 1984 to 1987. His three children all attended local schools.
He also served on the Myuna Farm Committee of Management, the Grassmere Board of Management, and was a member of the Berwick Scout Association and the Eastern Regional Health Association.
During his term on Council he secured extensions to the Doveton Senior Citizens building, Myuna Farm funding, and a crossing on Power Road with traffic signals.
