Margaret Owens was a City of Berwick Councillor from 1981 to 1984. During that time her commitment to the community she served was demonstrated time and time again by her willingness to help those who needed it, any way she could.
One of her many achievements was the improvement of facilities and services for the disabled. As a Councillor, she was able to focus attention on Council facilities that did not provide suitable access for all people in the community.
While Margaret retired from Council in 1984 she continued to serve on many local community groups and been actively involved in the development of the municipality.
