My uncle was Jack Kirkahm, i am the daughter of Jack’s brother Bill (William) Kirkham I can get in touch with My aunt Beryl who is Jack’s sister and ask questions about the family.

our Local History Officer and I have collaborated and tend to feel that your Jack Kirkham is not the same man the reserve is named after. Your Jack Kirkham as you say was born in Bacchus Marsh in 1921 and our Jack (John Moran) Kirkham’s birth was registered at Dandenong in 1915.

Was this reserve named after my uncle Jack Kirkham ex middleweight boxer, born in Bacchus Marsh and then later lived in Maidstone Victoria? I am trying to find my family if anyone can help please. I know Jack has died but I am sure he has family still alive that I have not been able to come to know through circumstances beyond my control. I would appreciate any help please.

My son Dane Simmonds is actually the grandson of Jack. His mother is Jillian Patricia (Kirkham) Adam’s half sister. Last time I saw Adam he was about 8 years old. Dane is currently in Baghdad but will be back in Melbourne in December.

I am the eldes, Georgina Forbes was my maiden name and married name Seymour. I have a brother, Wayne Forbes and a sister Victoria Lamar which is her married.
Our mother had a brother who was a middleweight boxing champion, Jack Kirkham who was born in Bacchus Marsh and then lived in Maidstone Victoria.

Jack Kirkham is my Grandfather. He was married to my Grandmother Pat.
Pat is still alive and living in Rosebud along with my mother Jacqui who is Jacks daughter.
I have a brother Nick and we both have children as well, so the family tree is still growing.
PS: John Simmonds is my uncle and Dane Simmonds is my cousin.
