Jack Thomas was one of the City of Berwick’s first councillors from 1973 – 1981. He was Mayor of the City of Berwick in 1974 – 1977.

On Saturday 9 May 1992 a corner of the Jack Thomas Reserve was named Edwards Corner in honour of Thomas and Annie Edwards. Berwick Mayor, Kirsty Lottkowitz officially named the corner where the family’s dairy farm once was with 35 descendants of Thomas and Annie who came to the soldier settlement dairy farm in 1935.
Thomas Edwards served in both the first and second world wars, and is also listed with Annie on the Soldier Settlement Memorial Garden plaque at Narre Warren North. Thomas and Annie had 8 children.
