    Hello Ray,

My name is Pamela Mc Fadyen, my ex-husband was Christopher John Bastin, son of John Sturgess Bastin, whose siblings are/were Margo, Bruce and Graeme.
I have a daughter Zoe, and as we have not been in contact with any of the extended family for years, are interested to make connections.

So we are wondering if you are connected in any way to the above. We came across your name on a plaque in Berwick.

    thanking you in anticipation,

    Pamela.

Hi Pamela just saw your email so apologies for delay answering. Have not been to this sight since 2013…..My father was Keith Bastin and his step-father was William Bastin. They were from the Pakenham – Dandenong area c1930’s. Sorry but I am unaware of any connection.
      cheers Ray

After which Ray Bastin is this reserve named?

    1. That’s a good question – one to which we don’t have the answer! However, we will endeavour to find out for you.

Hi Lynne. I am the Ray Bastin (Raymond Keith Bastin) the reserve was named after. I can further provide you with information if required. Of interest is the fact that I pushed for a Regional Play Ground a number of times when I was on Council, but to no-avail. With a very young family I was at that stage was very impressed with the Frankston Regional Playground (where I use to take my young children there from Narre Warren). Unfortunately at that time Council would not support the motion to establish such a park. (Just could not gert the numbers around the table.)
Love to follow this up with you.
        Cheers
        Ray

Hello Ray, I was wondering if our team at City of Casey could get in touch with you regarding Ray Bastin Reserve. We are landscape architects at the council and are looking into the history of the site to inform our design. Would be great to have a chat.

          Cheers
          Dimitri
